Youth Special Needs

Supporting All Individual Learners (SAIL)

The SAIL team is proud to provide a unique learning environment that supports students with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Students are integrated into mainstream classes with their peers, while also benefitting from extra assistance from SAIL teachers and behavior technicians. We prioritize the academic as well as the social success of our students. Students also have a separate SAIL resource room – a welcome retreat to go to when feeling over-stimulated, overwhelmed, or simply needing a quiet space to focus.

With a smaller teacher-student ratio, students work on academics adapted to the individual student's needs.  Goals on improving communication, social behaviour, emotional and sensory-motor skills is a focus of the class. Consultative services are provided by a speech and language pathologist, psychologist, occupational therapist, special education and autism spectrum disorder consultants.
